Director of Foodservice

 

The overall responsibilities include the total management of the company's broker network and distributor partners across Canada. Basic responsibilities include, but are not limited to sales and profit targets, development / training, coaching, sales planning, and “leading by example”. Internal interaction will be key success factor in a Team based environment designed to draw upon each other’s talents and skills to achieve company's Foodservice objectives. 

Position Accountabilities

  • Plan and achieve Regional Sales and Profit targets.
  • Set sales objectives by Broker
  • Participate and prepare presentations for Monthly Business Review with Management Team, to update progress against targets, new sales developments, and quantification of risks and opportunities.
  • Work closely with our marketing managers in updating and providing information on Competitors, Pricing, and Product Development.
  • Drive sales in  Branded and Commodity portfolio with emphasis on driving profitable “Focus Brands”
  • Work with the Broker network in developing single and multi-unit regional Operator accounts
  • Work with Sales and Marketing teams to prepare launch presentations, sell sheets, support materials and promotional activity in a timely fashion.
  • Conduct quarterly meetings to update progress against objectives, training and education, sales presentation skills, and engage other company functions to ensure the sales teams are fully immersed as experts in comapny's portfolio
  • Support, setup, and or attend Distributor Food Shows
  • Work with the Sales, Marketing and Trade Coordinator to maintain pricing, trade deals and vendor deals. 
  • Work with the Sales, Marketing and Trade Coordinator in the distribution of price change letters for customers
  • Work with the Sales, Marketing and Trade Coordinator to prepare Trade accruals
  • Track and prepare Sales contracts
  • Oversee the Broker commissions payments
  • Prepare Broker Scorecard for the Sales department
  • Maintain safe work practices, safe work practices and maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
  • Other duties and special projects as requested.

 

 

Experience and Qualifications Required

 

  • University or College degree in business/marketing preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years in Foodservice sales and distributor management role
  • Strong financial acumen preferred
  • Strong foodservice distributor knowledge
  • Proficiency with MS Office required, AS400 and COGNOS preferred
  • Excellent grammar, verbal and writing skills.
  • Must be results-driven, resourceful and well organized with an ability to work on multiple projects and strict deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • High energy level, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, and flexible.
  • Inspirational leader capable of teaching / educating
  • Must keep all personnel and department matters confidential.
  • Bilingual in French an asset but not mandatory
