We are recruiting on behalf of a marketing agency for a Vice President, Digital opportunity.  

Vice President, Digital 

The Vice President – Digital is responsible for the oversight, staffing & resources, financials and all projects of a digital nature (including social) at The company . The individual in the role will be the overall strategy lead on all digital programs, will work directly with account teams and clients on developing and selling in digital program strategy and managing the agencies digital and social teams to ensure all projects are effectively managed to be on-time and on-budget.  The individual will take an active roll in increasing intellectual property, process and visibility in the marketplace as being a leading digital agency in Canada.  The overall vision for the role is to heighten the profile of the agency through our digital capabilities and increasing overall digital project revenues and profitability for the agency.  You will also be responsible for development of our internal teams and on-going resources for the department, including the management of any third party digital supply partners and consumer / industry research resources.

You will be responsible for delivering digital projects from strategy & concept development, to client sell-in, development of execution plans, budget creation, status meetings and digital production to end of project analysis and evaluation.  The role will directly report into the Executive Vice President – Strategy & Planning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 
  • Accountable to overall digital department P&L, with accountability to the EVP – Strategy & Planning and the company’s executive team (ET)
  • Lead strategy (in collaboration with the EVP – Strategy & Planning), program ideation and development on all digital programs
  • Program leader for all digital programs, working directly with the digital project manager, account team members and clients directly
  • Digital business development – Including identifying & pitching new business opportunities and identifying current client organic growth opportunities.
  • Management & oversight to the company’s digital development team and social media team
  • Directly managing relationships with 3rd party digital suppliers (digital media, SEM, etc.)
  • Establishing an on-going resource pool of qualified freelance talent to draw upon in various digital departments as required due to work volume
  • Develop & continually optimize all digital project management processes
  • Evaluate & decide upon 3rd party tools / resources required for various digital departments
  • Work with entire account team to heighten overall digital awareness & acumen
  • Work with creative department to ensure seamless project integration
  • Maintain good standing with platform partners (Ie. Google, Facebook Exchange) to ensure certification status and dedicated project management
  • Responsible for proactive digital innovation initiatives that can apply in future projects
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills – both written and oral
  • University degree
  • Min. 5 years prior experience in digital strategy & leading digital teams / projects
  • A motivated individual who is able to motivate others
  • Strong financial acumen, with ability to manage & report on department P&L
  • Experience in managing multiple teams and various direct reports  
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong and effective client relationships at all levels
  • Strong presentation skills – Building visual presentations & verbal delivery
  • Collaborative team player with enthusiasm and can-do attitude 
  • Ability to operate with speed, flexibility and creativity
  • Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve with consideration around deadlines, client impact and budgets
  • An understanding of effective social media engagement (FB, twitter, Instagram & YT) and the lifecycle of great content
