Strategic Planning Manager - Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of a Canadian Retail Chain, located in Ottawa Ontario. 

In this central role, you will support the management of company strategy and partner with Department Heads in the development of departmental strategy. You will own the quarterly strategic planning process, be a key contributor to the annual strategy process; and, manage the successful delivery of strategic initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key influencer working on high impact initiatives.

 Highlights
  • Own the end-to-end management of the quarterly strategic planning process. Lead management of strategic performance measurement, business analysis and communications with Senior Management stakeholders; develop materials for Board of Directors, Management and company-wide audiences.
  • Facilitate the delivery of company strategic plans. Support Senior Management in managing the process and documenting strategy and company plans.
  • In partnership with internal Department Heads, develop and document comprehensive department level strategy and roadmap plans including business, financials, assets and capabilities requirements.
  • Act as subject matter expert for key external topics (i.e. regulatory, legal and political).
  • Deliver leadership and project management on key initiatives
  • Manage cross-functional projects; guide and perform detailed analytics, leveraging internal, customer, competitive and market data. Facilitate measurement and change management.
  • Support key meeting processes, define agendas, manage content and prepare project updates for the Senior Management and Executive Teams.
  • Facilitate strategy development. Act as an internal consultant in the development of recommendations.
  • Support Director with Strategic Planning and Market Research divisional requirements
  • Responsible for relationships with outside vendors
 Key Qualifications
  • 7+ years’ experience in strategy, management, business analysis and/or project management
  • Ideal candidate will have: strong analytical skills; superior communication skills; ability to delivery complex information clearly and concisely; experience drafting corporate communications and designing presentation materials; ability to deliver business planning and reporting.
  • Management consulting and/or retail management backgrounds considered assets
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Management, Finance, or Marketing OR equivalent experience
  • Advanced computer skills working with Microsoft Office; in particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Advanced presentation skills with the ability to deliver key messages to Sr. Teams
